This service comprises the immunisation of 2 animals, normally
guinea pigs (GP) or rabbits (RB), with 2 mg of a peptide coupled
to KLH in complete Freund's adjuvant and three individual boosters
in three week intervals in incomplete Freund's adjuvant and the
bleeding of the animals by heart punction.
Between the boosters and especiallly before the bleeding a small
amount of blood will be tested against ovalbumin conjugated peptide
to determine the titer of the corresponding serum.
Since we use only products of high-quality (purified peptides,
maleimide activated KLH and OVA of the highest available quality)
for the preparation of our antisera, we have a high success in
the generation of highly specific antisera. This has been represented
in a large number of publications.
